We are pleased to provide you with this opportunity to request funds from our Grant Program. It is important you provide all information requested in the attached fillable Grant Application Form in order to expedite your application. Please fill out the application. Applications must also be postmarked/submitted by mail to: GSEZ, PO Box 335, 602 Lincoln Ave., Finley, ND 58230. WILL NOT ACCEPT FAXED GRANT APPLICATIONS 

The purpose of the grant program is to assist the zone communities with their projects to slow or reverse the outmigration of people in the zone.

Note that while we would like to fund all worthy projects, no project will receive funds without first being identified and approved as part of the Empowerment Zone's Strategic Plan/Benchmarks. In addition, grant funds are only available to public and non-profit organizations.

DISCLAIMER

The Empowerment Zone will not fund projects that are used for the following:

1. Using other federal funds to match Empowerment Zone grant funds.
2. Funding political activities.
3. Duplicating current services, replacing or substituting financial support provided from other sources.
4. Supplement general local government costs.
5. Supplement membership fees associated with the purchase of equipment or facilities.
6. Preparation of a grant submitted to the Empowerment Zone for approval.
7. Costs incurred prior to the stated execution date of the grantee/grantor contract.
8. Costs for assistance to any private business enterprise which does not have at least 51% ownership by a United States citizen.
9. Streets and school buildings cannot be funded with Empowerment Zone grant funds.
10. Costs for any judgment or debt owed to the United States.
11. Relocation costs for a business.
12. Supporting or promoting gambling.
13. Political lobbying.

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS, OR APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT CONFORM TO THE FORMAT STATED HEREIN, WILL NOT BE REVIEWED.

THE GSEZ RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY OR ALL APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE FUNDING OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE EMPOWERMENT ZONE STAFF BY THE DUE DATE. IF SENT VIA MAIL, THE PACKAGE MUST BE POSTMARKED BY THE DATE DUE. IF THE APPLICATION IS RECEIVED AFTER THE OFFICIAL DUE DATE, THE APPLICANT IS INVITED TO REAPPLY FOR THE GRANT. WILL NOT ACCEPT FAXED GRANT APPLICATIONS
