The Griggs-Steele Empowerment
Zone Tourism committee purpose is to preserve and promote
the heritage and lifestyle within Griggs and Steele
counties; facilitate networking and the exchanging of
tourism and recreation based ideas; coordinate and plan
future tourism based events in both counties and promote
and invest in nature-based and agri-based tourism opportunities.
The goals and objectives for the tourism committee is
also identify existing attractions, community values
and services available for individuals and or groups
that are planning on visiting our area. There are plenty
of places to see along with hunting and fishing throughout
Griggs and Steele counties.
Why is tourism important? Tourism can bring substantial
benefits to a community and its residents. It is one
of the few industries that brings new money into a community
